A senior executive of ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, which is the first mutual fund in India to launch the GLI plan, said the fund is in the midst of finalising the details of the plan.
“The investment plan is in the final stages of approval. We are planning to finalise it by the end of the month. The scheme will be open to investors across all wealth segments.”
With an aim to generate a growth dividend for the investors, the mutual fund will have a corpus of at least Rs 50,000 crore.
In addition, the fund will target a high return of 13 per cent to 15 per cent annually.
“It is going to be 13 per cent to 15 per cent per annum return. We are planning to invest 70-80 per cent of the corpus in equity and 20-30 per cent in debt and preferred securities.
“The growth dividend we are targeting for the investors is about 6 per cent per annum. So, if the market is going up by 7 per cent, the investors will get 6 per cent per annum. We are planning to invest 70-80 per cent of the corpus in equity and 20-30 per cent in debt and preferred securities.”
The fund will be managed by an investment team which will have three-four key people.
“The primary focus of the fund will be to generate a growth dividend. Our current fund size is Rs 20,000 crore. The target is to add Rs 15,000 crore by next year. So, we have already started planning for the second fund. We have already identified the distribution space. We are in the process of evaluating the distribution space.�
